BvG Privacy Policy

Effective September 29, 2026

1. Who we are

BvG (Blue V Green) is run by Blue V Green LLC ("BvG", "we"). This policy explains what the BvG app collects, how it is used, who can see it, and the choices you have. Questions go to [email protected].

2. What we collect

What you give us: your email address and password, or your Google account name and email if you continue with Google (passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see them); your name, username, birth date, sex, zip code, home venue and sports; and what you do in the app, including matches and scores, challenges, open calls, posts, comments, players-only notes and match statuses, follows, teams, blocks, reports, and venue details, notes and ratings you add.

What is collected automatically: a push notification token for your device, crash reports (device model, operating system and app version, and what the app was doing when it crashed), and an app integrity check that confirms requests come from the real BvG app.

We don't collect your precise location, contacts, photos or advertising identifier, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

3. How we use it

To run BvG: keep your ladder, ratings, record and rankings (by venue, zip code, city, state and nationally), connect you with other players, and send the notifications you have switched on. To keep BvG safe: check that you are old enough to use it, filter objectionable content, and review reports. To fix problems, using crash reports.

BvG shows no ads. We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising.

4. Who can see what

Other signed-in players can see your username, name, city and state, sports, ratings, record, rankings, teams, posts, public comments and open calls.

Match results are public unless you, or any player in the match, turns off "Match results public" in Settings; then only the players in that match can see it. Players-only notes and match statuses are seen only by the players in that match or challenge. "Discoverable in search" and "Show on venue boards" control whether you appear in search and on venue leaderboards.

The app doesn't show your email, birth date, sex, zip code, settings, blocks or reports to other players. Players you block aren't told.

5. Service providers

Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics and App Check) stores and processes BvG data on our behalf in the United States. Google Sign-In handles "Continue with Google". Apple delivers push notifications. When you enter a zip code, it is sent to the Zippopotam.us lookup service to find your city and state; nothing else is sent with it. Pro league standings come from public sports data; none of your data is sent to those sources.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of players.

6. How long we keep it, and deleting your account

We keep your information while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. That deletes your profile, username, ratings and record, posts, comments, open calls you host, follows, blocks, team invites, venue ratings and notifications.

Matches you played stay on your opponents' records, shown as "deleted player" without your name, so their ratings still add up. Venue details you added to the venue wiki stay, without your name, and reports you filed are kept without your name as a record of the moderation decision. Crash reports are kept by Crashlytics for up to 90 days.

7. Children

BvG is not for children under 13. Sign-up asks for your birth date and won't create a profile for anyone under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we'll delete it. If you believe a child under 13 is using BvG, email [email protected].

8. Your choices and rights

You can change your profile, privacy switches and notification switches in Settings, block players, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to have it deleted; email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days.

9. Security

BvG data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Google Firebase, and database rules limit each player to what they are allowed to see and change. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app.

11. This website (bluevgreen.com)

Our website at bluevgreen.com is separate from the app data above. If you sign up to become a tester using the form on that site, we collect the name, email address and ZIP code you submit, used only to evaluate and contact prospective testers — we don't sell or share it for marketing.

The Pro Leagues rankings page on that site shows public sports statistics and our own computed ratings; it doesn't collect any personal information.
